Brief introduction
Communication University of Zhejiang, founded in 1978, is a university jointly built by the people's Government of Zhejiang Province and the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television. It has two campuses,located in Hangzhou (Qiantang) and Tongxiang (Wuzhen).
CUZ has 18 secondary schools (departments) covering six disciplines: Art, Literature, Engineering, Management, Economics, and Education. Drama, film and television, and journalism and communication are provincial first-class disciplines (category A). Information and communication engineering and public management are provincial first-class disciplines (category B). The university offers three professional master’s degree programs: Master of Journalism and Communication, Master of Drama and Film and Television, and Master of International Chinese Education. There are 37 undergraduate majors, of which 13 majors such as broadcastin and television are national first-class professional construction sites, and 10 majors such as network and new media are first-class professional construction sites at the provincial level.
CUZ has more than 1,400 teaching and staff members, including more than 150 national, provincial and industry-leading talents,more than 13300 undergraduate students, nearly 1000 graduate students and about 300 overseas students from more than 20 countries, such as Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Bhutan, Thailand, Malaysia, Russia, Turkey and Iran.
At present, CUZ has 3 national teaching platforms such as national animation teaching research base, national experimental teaching demonstration center for TV editing and broadcasting, 11 provincial teaching platforms such as provincial experimental teaching demonstration center and so on,and 4 provincial teaching teams.There are 2 modern industrial colleges, 12 national first-class courses and 177 provincial-level first-class courses. It has built the first 5G+4K e-sports comprehensive laboratory in a domestic university, a provincial key laboratory, a provincial engineering research center and a provincial and ministerial laboratory. There are more than 400 industry-university-research practical teaching bases, including 1 national off-campus practical education base for university students, 10 off-campus practical education bases for provincial university students, and 5 overseas practice bases.
